The Hampshire Firefighter Memorial Garden
Located at the frontage as the Headquarters building of the now named Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service in Leigh Road, Eastleigh, SO50 9SJ. A memorial stone and four bronze statues form the Garden, and the memorial stone contains the names of members of the fire service who died in the course of their duties, within the county of Hampshire.
Additionally, there is space for those who have died whilst traveling to their place of work.
There are also wall plaques on the site dedicated in general to the members of the ‘Corps of (Civilian) Canadian Firefighters’ and to the men and women of the Auxiliary Fire Service 1949-1968.
As this was created in 2010, prior to the merger with the Isle of Wight in 2021, there are no names from the Island on this memorial. However, there are memorials on the Island dedicated to members of their past constituent fire service organisations.
