About the memorial

Located within Southsea fire station.

One person recorded, Fireman Norman Urry, did in fact die in October 1974, after the amalgamation with Hampshire which took place in April 1974, but he was originally a member of the Portsmouth Fire Brigade and died during training after only six months of becoming part of Hampshire.
